Shocking: Insight Communications Ltd in serious corruption allegations.
Trouble started for the PR company, Insight Communications Limited, owned by the Troyka Group, When a broadcast message started circulating on Whatsapp groups about needing about 200 guys for the 2019 edition of Access Bank’s Lagos Marathon.
A guy by the name, PJOHN, who was among the guys used last year for same program, who in a bid to warn his friend against applying due to the exploitation they witnessed last year, the chat was leaked and the PR company got wift of it and a lady from the agency called his bluff, “To go ahead and do his worst,” after insulting him.
He alleged that last year, they were paid 5,000 naira at the end of the three days job, as against the 15,000 naira they were promised and made to sleep on the open air after offloading drinks from the trucks, only to find out after the job that 7UP paid insight for their accommodation and 30,000 naira per person.
Another eye witness, who was also at the event last year, by name Mr. Gnarky Barley, gave his own account of the ordeal they passed through in the hands of the agency, said,
“My location was at Gbagada just after domino pizza, we went to stadium that day and was dispatched to our stand without mobilization fee, neither did they drive us down there, we tracked the place ourselves.. And had to wait for hours before the supervisor arrived..
After his arrival our drinks and other equipment arrived, and we offloaded it, slept on the road there and alas after the whole job, we where paid 5k which I refused and was asked to go if I won’t accept it.”
9jaflair gathered that the brand manager of Lagos Marathon got wift of what was going on and contacted Mr Pjohn that the matter was already giving Lagos Marathon a negative name, with the promise to look into the matter.
Also as at the time of this report the Pepsi brand manager and Lagos marathon brand manager are already investigating the matter.
All efforts to reach insight communications, through Itunu, as at the time of writing this report, proved abortive.
Other victims complained of the same inhumane treatment meted out to them by insight communications, see pictures below:
